How the portal uses cookies and browser storage. The short version: we keep you logged in and remember your settings.
Applies to the mimBo's Discord Portal · Last updated 7 July 2026No advertising, no tracking, no selling your data. Just the bits we need to keep the portal working the way you left it.
This notice is about the mimBo's Discord Portal at mimbos.com and its bot configuration pages (Welcome & Goodbye, Embed Builder, Command Builder, Moderation, Leveling, Giveaways, Forms, Ban Appeals and the rest). It does not cover Discord itself or any other mimBo's product.
The portal runs in your browser and talks to our API. Instead of traditional cookies, it mostly uses your browser's local storage, which is the same idea as a cookie (a small piece of data kept on your device) but is never automatically sent to advertisers or third parties. We use it for two things: keeping you signed in, and remembering your preferences so the editors feel the way you left them. Everything below is strictly necessary or a choice you made. There are no analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies, so there is nothing extra to opt into.
| Name | Purpose |
|---|---|
authToken | Keeps you logged in after you sign in with Discord, so you don't have to reconnect on every page. A session token for your account only. |
mimbo_selected_guild | Remembers which server you were configuring so it reopens where you left off. |
portal_theme_preference, mimbo_theme | Your light / dark / time-of-day theme choice. |
mimbo_welcome_config, loadEmbed | A local draft of what you're building, so a refresh or dropped connection doesn't lose your work before you save it to the bot. |
mimbo_auto_save, mimbo_sounds, mimbo_send_shortcut, mimbo_fun_mode, mimbo_animation_speed, psb_collapsed | Small editor preferences (auto-save, sound effects, keyboard shortcut, sidebar state) so the interface behaves how you like. |
mimbo_cookie_consent | Remembers that you've seen the cookie notice, so the popup doesn't reappear every visit. |
When you choose Continue with Discord, Discord handles the login and sends us only what you approve (your account id, username, avatar, and the list of servers you manage). We use that to show your servers and let you configure the bots. Discord may set its own cookies during login on discord.com; those are governed by Discord's privacy policy, not this one.
You're always in control. Signing out clears your login token. You can also clear this data any time from your browser: open its settings and remove site data / local storage for mimbos.com, or use private browsing. Clearing it simply signs you out and resets your preferences to the defaults. Nothing in your actual server configuration is affected, because that lives with the bot, not in your browser.
If anything here is unclear, ask us in our Discord server and we'll walk you through it.
