How to use a Discord server template

What a server template gives you

Each template in the gallery is a ready-made structure: text and voice channels grouped into categories, a set of roles with their colours and permissions, and often a starter pack of emojis. Applying one saves you from building all of that by hand, which is the slow part of setting up any community.

mimBo's templates apply to an existing server additively. Nothing you already have is deleted just because you apply a template, so you can try one on a live server without starting over.

Use a template from the gallery

The gallery lives at mimbos.com/templates. Open it, find a template and follow these steps.

1. Browse the gallery

   Go to /templates and scroll or search for a layout that fits your community, whether that is gaming, study, art or a general hangout.
2. Open a template

   Click a template to see everything it includes: its channels, categories, roles and any emojis, so you know exactly what will land on your server.
3. Press Apply to server

   Hit the Apply to server button on the template page to start the flow.
4. Sign in with Discord

   If you are not already logged in, sign in with Discord so mimBo's knows which servers you manage.
5. Pick a server you manage

   Choose a server where you have the Manage Server permission. Only servers you can administer will appear in the list.
6. Add the mimBo's bots

   If the bot is not on that server yet, you will be prompted to invite it. The Moderation bot does all the work of creating the channels, roles and emojis for you.
7. Confirm and apply

   Review the summary and confirm. The template is written onto your server and you can open Discord to see the new layout right away.
