How verification works: captcha, VPN and new accounts
A quick look at the check members complete and the free protections working behind it.
What a member sees
A held member gets a private link to a verify page. They complete a quick Cloudflare check, and the moment they pass, the bot removes the quarantine role and restores their normal access. No commands, no waiting on a moderator.

The checks behind the scenes
| Check | What happens |

| Human check (captcha) | Every member passes a Cloudflare Turnstile check. Fail it and they are not let in. |
| VPN, proxy and Tor | Connections are checked against free VPN, datacenter and Tor lists. Tor is turned away. A VPN is allowed only if the account is old enough, and the member is told it was detected. |
| New-account age | Set a minimum account age. Brand-new accounts on a VPN are turned away below it. With strict mode on, brand-new accounts are held a little longer even without a VPN. |
| Connection velocity | If many accounts verify from the same connection in a short window, later ones are turned away to stop alt farms. |
Verify once, everywhere
When a member passes, the result is linked to their Discord account, not just this server. Join another mimBo's server that uses verification and they are let straight in, no second check. It keeps the door shut for raiders while staying invisible to real members.
Note. No raw IP is ever stored. Connections are checked as a salted hash only.
