How to back up and restore a Discord server

mimBo's automatically keeps snapshots of your server structure so a nuked server is minutes, not days, from recovery.

How backups work

The bot snapshots your channels, roles and permissions automatically and keeps the 3 most recent snapshots. You can see the retention setting on the Joins and leaves tab (the cap is 3).

Backup retention setting
Backups are capped at the 3 most recent snapshots.

Restore

CommandWhat it does
/restore latestRebuild channels, roles and permissions from the newest snapshot.
/restore specific indexPick the latest, second latest or third latest snapshot to restore from.
Tip. Backups store your server structure, not message history. Discord does not allow bots to restore deleted messages. During a detected raid the bot restores automatically and posts "Server Restored" in your log.
