How to make a custom welcome embed in Discord

An embed welcome looks far more polished than a plain line of text. With mimBo's you can design a custom welcome embed visually and have it sent automatically to every new member. Here is how.

Build the embed

Open the Welcome & Goodbye builder and log in.
Select your server and set the message type to Rich Embed.
Add a title (for example Welcome to {{server}}) and a description with placeholders.
Choose an embed colour to match your brand.
Optionally add fields (like "Read the rules" or "Grab your roles") and a footer.
Preview it live, then click Save changes.

Add an image or banner

You can attach a static image to the embed, or use the Canvas banner so the member’s avatar is composited onto a background. Keep the member’s avatar as a thumbnail for a clean, professional layout.

Make sure new members get pinged

Mentions placed inside an embed do not notify the user. Turn on Ping user outside embed so mimBo's also mentions them above the embed and they actually get the notification.
