How the image welcome works

mimBo's’s Canvas feature takes a background image you choose and overlays the joining member’s avatar on top, creating a personalised welcome card for every single join. It is perfect for making new members feel special without designing a new graphic each time.

Turn on image welcomes

Open the Welcome & Goodbye builder and log in with Discord.
Select your server and make sure welcome messages are enabled.
Paste a banner image URL into the Canvas / banner field. Use a wide image for the best fit.
The new member’s avatar is automatically composited onto the banner. You can also keep their avatar as a small embed thumbnail.
Check the live preview and click Save changes.

Tips for a clean welcome card

Use a high-resolution, wide background so it looks crisp on desktop and mobile.
Leave some empty space in the middle of your banner where the avatar will land.
Pair the image with a short embed title like Welcome to {{server}} for context.
You can use {{user_avatar}} in image fields to reference the member’s avatar directly.
