Free Discord welcome bot with images and banners

A welcome image with the new member’s avatar on a custom banner instantly makes a server feel premium. mimBo's does this for free with its Canvas feature. Here is how it works and how to turn it on.

How the image welcome works

mimBo's’s Canvas feature takes a background image you choose and overlays the joining member’s avatar on top, creating a personalised welcome card for every single join. It is perfect for making new members feel special without designing a new graphic each time.

Turn on image welcomes

  1. Open the Welcome & Goodbye builder and log in with Discord.
  2. Select your server and make sure welcome messages are enabled.
  3. Paste a banner image URL into the Canvas / banner field. Use a wide image for the best fit.
  4. The new member’s avatar is automatically composited onto the banner. You can also keep their avatar as a small embed thumbnail.
  5. Check the live preview and click Save changes.

Tips for a clean welcome card

  • Use a high-resolution, wide background so it looks crisp on desktop and mobile.
  • Leave some empty space in the middle of your banner where the avatar will land.
  • Pair the image with a short embed title like Welcome to {{server}} for context.
  • You can use {{user_avatar}} in image fields to reference the member’s avatar directly.

Open the free Welcome & Goodbye tool and set it up in minutes. No coding required.
