How to automatically welcome new members on Discord
Once it is set up, mimBo's handles new joins entirely on its own: it posts a greeting, can DM the member, assign a role and even slow down raids. Here is the full automatic welcome flow.
The automatic welcome flow
When someone joins, mimBo's can do all of this with no manual work:
- Post a welcome message or image in your chosen channel.
- Send a welcome DM with rules, links or a friendly intro.
- Assign a role automatically with autorole.
- Ping moderators on each join if you want eyes on new accounts.
- Slow raids with anti-spam limits on how many joins are allowed in a time window.
Set it up
- Open the Welcome & Goodbye builder and log in.
- Enable welcome messages and choose your channel and design.
- In Server settings, turn on the extras you want: welcome DM, autorole, moderator ping and anti-spam.
- Set a small message delay if you want the welcome to wait a couple of seconds after joining.
- Click Save changes. That is it, joins are now handled automatically.
Protect against raids
Anti-spam lets you cap how many members can join within a set time window. If that limit is exceeded, mimBo's treats it as a possible raid so your team can react. You set both the time window and the max joins.
Open the free Welcome & Goodbye tool and set it up in minutes. No coding required.
